- About NATE
Becoming a Proctor is a huge responsibility. You are responsible for protecting and maintaining the integrity of the NATE certification process.
As an approved proctor for NATE certification exams, you are part of a network of individuals who support professional excellence in the HVACR industry, including educators, distributors, technicians, contractors, manufacturers, trade associations, utilities and consumers. You do not have to be technical, nor do you have to hold NATE Certification. Any person who is a member of a testing organization, conscientious and a good administrator can be a proctor.
NOTE: Any proctor who is also a HVACR trainer may not proctor any exams for candidates they have personally trained for a period of two years. A different proctor registered and approved through NATE would be able to proctor the exams. Any HVACR trainers that teach courses specifically preparing candidates for NATE exams would not be able to proctor exams.
