HVACR Testing Organizations and Proctors
Welcome to the NATE Testing Organization (TO) and Proctor information center. A NATE TO is any organization that has been approved by NATE to participate in and offer support to the NATE HVACR technician certification program by hosting testing sessions for candidates. Proctors are individuals approved by NATE to oversee NATE test sessions. TO’s and proctors are the cornerstones of the NATE program; they are NATE’s “face” to the technician population.
In the Testing Organization and proctor information center you will find instructions on how to become a NATE Testing Organization or NATE Proctors. You will also find the related manuals, scripts and forms necessary to apply, conduct or proctor a test session.
NATE Testing Organizations:
- Market NATE Certification
- Schedule testing sessions
- Order exams. (Proctors may also order exams.)
- Provide physical space for the test session.
- Comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990), the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (amended 1991), and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (amended 1990). If candidates have special space or egress needs, or if they need to have the test read to them, the proctor must arrange for it. (If prior notification was received from the candidate.)
- Arrange and pay for a NATE-approved proctor, if necessary
- Safeguard the integrity of the NATE exam by following by all security guidelines.
To support your scheduled tests and allow candidates to easily find local testing centers NATE maintains a data base of all testing centers and scheduled test which updates automatically when a new test session is entered. Click here to search for Testing Organization(s).
