Why NATE Recertification

You’ve proven you have the HVAC/R knowledge to perform to the Industry’s highest standards as a NATE-Certified Technician.  Now it’s time to recertify.

Why Recertify?

Knowledge in the HVAC/R Industry changes constantly such as new SEER requirements, new refrigerants, new codes, and new standards. These changes plus advancements in engineering require you to constantly update your knowledge and information about the industry. That’s why it is important for today’s successful technician to attend classes and workshops to remain one-step ahead. Training increases your skills and makes you more valuable because it assures customers you have the proven knowledge to get the job done right.

When To Recertify?

NATE requires recertification every five years.

Your NATE wallet card shows your specialty(ies) and the expiration date(s).  Recertification before the expiration date(s) is critical.  If all certifications lapse, the process starts over again with the core and specialty exams.

YOU, the technician, are responsible for maintaining your certification(s).

NATE sends notices in writing to the address in the NATE data base.  If you have not updated your contact information, through MyNATE, www.natetesting.com or contacted the NATE office with changes, your recertification notices may not be received.
